Successfully defended a public Taiwanese company in a complicated litigation where the plaintiff sought over US$10 million damages for computer components. The case resulted in a 8-0 unanimous defense verdict and an award in attorney fees ( approximately US$1,000,000).

     
 




Represented a Chinese corporation in contracting a renowned American designer to construct a world-class golf course in China. The project involved over 660 acres of land with plans for a 36 hole golf course and 770 resort villas. The contract required arbitration in Hong Kong with California law as the governing law.

     
 




Negotiated non-disclosure agreements, license agreements, trade secret agreements, and joint venture agreements on behalf of clients with Apple, Lucent, IBM, Microsoft, Seiko, Siemens, Nortel, Agilent, Seagate, Fujitsu, Epson and other major High Tech manufacturers.

     
 


Acting as outside Corporate Counsel for manufacturers and high tech companies from Taiwan and Hong Kong ( including a publicly listed company )

     
 



Successfully completed length negotiation on behalf of several Taiwan automobile manufacturers an agreement with a standards company and with an insurance company for marketing auto parts in the USA.

     
 

 

Successfully defended a Chinese OEM and obtained a large amount of compensation in a litigation case regarding violation of trade secret and patent infringement.

     
 



Represented a display technology company in merging with a publicly listed company structuring the transaction as a stock of stock exchange with common shares, preferred shares, options, key executive employment agreement, etc.

     
 


Successfully structure and negotiated on behalf of a US company for a 15 year contract for the sale and purchase of herbal and health food products from China.

     
 

Acted as outside corporate lawyer for a China Trust and Investment company.

     
 



Successfully defended a US client in a suit by a Chinese entity claiming breach of a joint venture agreement in setting up a factory in China, first by arbitration in China and then in US Federal Court.

     
 


Negotiated and completed agreement for the transfer of software technology from a US manufacturer to a Hong Kong OEM manufacturer.

     
 


Negotiated and completed a system purchase agreement for a major mother board manufacturer.

     
 



Advised Top Management of a high tech company in the protection of Intellectual Properties with emphasis on a company policy and procedures in protecting trade secrets.

     
 


Represented a San Jose high tech company in processing H-1 visas and green card application for all the company's foreign employees.

     
 


Negotiated and completed agreement for a service center contract for the stocking of just in time inventory near the purchaser's assembly line.

     
 




Represented a California corporation where disagreeing shareholders fought for control of the corporation. The shareholders were from US, Japan and Taiwan. The contested issues involved share issuance, termination agreements, stock options and intellectual property rights.

     
 


Negotiated and completed an agreement for the managing of the supply of monitors in conjunction with the supply of the rest of the computer systems for an OEM customer.

     
 




Represented the majority shareholder of a Californian corporation in negotiation with other shareholders on the proper use of corporate funds. The contested issues involved corporate control, proper shareholder meetings, instructions to banks, and defamation. All shareholders were from Shanghai, China.

     
 


Negotiated and completed agreement on behalf of a Taiwan client to sell computer systems and components to a major manufacturer in the People's Republic of China.

     
 


Negotiated and completed agreement for a US owned Hong Kong company to import a proprietary herb from China.

     
 


Represented a defendant in an auto accident matter in obtaining the medical records of the plaintiffs. The medical facilities are located in Hong Kong.

     
 



Represented an insurance company in a subrogation matter and the enforcement of a U.S. judgment in Hong Kong. The initial activities involved the investigation of the assets of a Hong Kong manufacturer.

     
 



Successfully represented a U.S. manufacturer in a difficult case in stopping payments required under a letter of credit. The manufacturer discovered irregularities in the goods shipped from Korea.

     
 


Negotiated and completed an agreement for the licensing of Chinese Tradition Herbal Formulae to a Hong Kong company.

     
 


Represented a senior U.S. permanent resident in drafting a will with provisions governing her real properties in Hong Kong.
